“The Dan Ferris performance was the first show at the Morton Arboretum that broke the 1,000 attendee mark for our concert series. I don't think we would have kept the program going had we not had such a success to conclude the year. Dan worked our open lawn as if it were an intimate club of 100. The music appealed to an audience that ranged from twenty-somethings to eighty-year-olds. The show eventually ended due to darkness, but the crowd wanted more. Had we had stage lighting at the time, I think we would have run through his entire repertoire.”
